Curriculum vitae Born Holland 1960 Education Koninklijke Academie voor Beeldende Kunst en Vormgeving 's-Hertogenbosch 1979-1984 About the paintings Playing with shape and colour is the basis of Vincent van Oss' work. Vincent works with stencils and combines them with abstract expressionism. The paintings are reminiscent of the cut-outs by Matisse or the graphics by Braque and Arp, but Van Oss shows different shapes, evoking a feeling of "seventies" design. He is influenced by Bram van Velde and Sigmar Polke. The pure images Van Oss creates, stimulate the viewer's imagination to define what (s)he sees.
